4 comments” Things That Matter…Things That Don’t”
The following is another post written by my wife…you know…the better half…
You may have heard this song on the latest Rascal Flatt’s CD. (Yes, I am a Rascal Flatts fan!)

I couldn’t help but think of those words recently as my week at work was stressful and it just seemed like things were not coming together as I had hoped. Five o’clock rolled around and it was time to pick up my girls from volleyball practice. As they made their way to the car, I found myself just staring at them thinking, “things that matter, things that don’t.” Somehow the stress of the day took its proper place as I was so grateful to be their mother. Sadly, the things that really don’t matter tend to consume me and the things that really do matter don’t get the energy and focus they deserve. I am going to work on that; reminding myself daily of….”Things that matter, things that don’t.”

5 commentsPostlude to “Why do Mormon (LDS) facilities look so good?”
Back on August 27th I posted a blog entitled “Why do Mormon (LDS) facilities look so good?” I was very surprised at the number of people that opened and read the blog…about 3 times my normal readership per post…including almost 60 from Utah. I have since found out that the blog was linked on Mormonlife.com…go figure.
Since that time I have had conversations with several national organizations about the post and just posted an excerpt of the blog on the International Facility Managers Association (IFMA) site. That prompted a response from the gentleman that was the webinar leader that stirred my thoughts on this topic (If you don’t know what I am talking about then you are either one of my kids or have not read the first blog…or both). Below is his response to my post on IFMA:

7 commentsTop 5 Facilities Management Challenges, Part 1
I recently read an article published by Corrigo, Inc who specializes in work order and time tracking solutions. This article lists the Top 5 Facilities Management challenges based on a survey they conducted of over 1,200 companies.
For the sake of space, I will plan to divide their findings into 5 separate blog posts starting with the 5th challenge and work our way up to the top challenge (according to Coriggio). We will explore their findings in the commercial markets and then draw similarities to ministry facilities.

2 commentsLessons from a Cucumber and Tomato
Do you have toddlers…or maybe had young kids in the late 1990’s or early 2000’s? If so, then you will most likely be familiar with VeggieTales. This was/is one of the most successful Christian video series for children ever produced. They sold more than 50 million (with an “M”) videos in an 11 year span of time placing their videos in 1 of every 3 American households with young children. I know that at one time, we owned everyone of their videos. I told Lisa we were buying them for the kids….but I loved them just as much….they were down right funny, but with great Biblical truths.
