Pic for website Facility Management for your church...what you need to knowOver the past few weeks, we have had a large number of new subscribers and followers to our blog and posts. Given that, I thought it would be a good idea to do a refresher of several of the topics and discussions that we have had regarding Facility Management for churches. For those of you who have been following for some time now (and you know who you are), this may feel redundant…please bear with me…but for those of you who are new or just need a refresher, let me briefly share some of the more salient topics for your review and discussion:

TOPIC #1: How to get started with a Facilities Management program. Facility Management for your church...what you need to know

How do you get started? What are the key elements of establishing a proactive FM program at your church? How much should I budget? These and many other issues are addressed here.

TOPIC #2: Facility “Management” vs “maintenance”

Is there a difference between management and maintenance? How would you define the 2 in your facility?  Which one of these terms best defines your approach to the care of the resources entrusted to your care?

TOPIC #3: Preventive MaintenanceMaintenanceCollage 200x190 Facility Management for your church...what you need to know

This post was the second one we did addressing the need and the cost savings involved with Preventive Maintenance vs corrective maintenance.  This is a fundamental that we need to grasp to be able to understand that Preventive maintenance actually costs LESS than corrective.

TOPIC #4: How to select the right Room Scheduling software

What kind of Room Scheduling software system are you currently using?  Is it meeting your needs?  This post addresses the 10 questions you need to address when evaluating which solution is right for your church.

TOPIC #5: Why Use Facility Management Software

This is a 5 Part series that addresses the need to incorporate FM software…and the ways it can actually save you time and money…make sure you review all 5.  It is worth your time.

TOPIC #6: The importance of the Facility Manager during a construction project

This final item addresses the need to get the facility manager involved with your ministry construction projects.  They are too often only involved after the fact instead of realizing that their input can save you thousands of dollars during construction as well…and maybe more importantly…after construction.

I trust that these reminders will serve you well as we all work together to serve the Kingdom of God, by being stewards of His ministry facilities.
