elevationchurch GratitudeA Couple weeks ago, the teaching at Elevation Church really hit home with me. Pastor Steven Furtick preached a sermon that was not only timely but very poignant.   The topic was gratitude…and his observations were right on the money.

Let me share with you the highlights of this sermon.  You can hear the whole thing HERE:

1. Gratitude is never invisible or silent. Gratitude shows up and/or speaks up

2. Gratitude sustains joy and blessing

3. Gratitude begins where my sense of entitlement ends (ouch). Gratitude is not based on “how good” your/my situation is, but rather how we see it.

4. Grateful people can find a blessing, enlarge a blessing or create a blessing in just about any situation.  Gratitude 150x150 GratitudeYour situation does not have to improve for your gratitude to increase

5. Gratitude increases favor and creates opportunity.

So…what are you grateful for?  As we start a new year, I have taken some time to journal many of the things that I am thankful for.  It has been a great exercise and I would recommend you try the same.  Then practice gratitude throughout all of 2011.
