No comments7 Lessons About Facility Stewardship I Learned The Hard Way
I am thrilled to share this weeks post with you. It was written by Steve Caton, part of the leadership team at Church
Community Builder. Have you ever met someone that you know immediately that they “get it”? Well…that is Steve. He get’s it spiritually…professionally…emotionally and has a real passion for the church. In addition, he is a heck of a lot of fun to hang with. This guest blog by Steve is a real life story that I am sure is far too often the case and not the exception.

3 commentsThe Original Facility Managers Were Considered Holy Men
This year I have committed to read through the Bible. I am using the YOU VERSION app from Life Church on my tablet
(android tablet that is). I have not missed a day and am embarrassed to admit how much I did not know was in the Bible. Kind of a sad commentary about my diligence in Bible reading.Well, this week I was reading the chapters in my “plan” which included Numbers chapters 2 and 3. I was clicking away…reading diligently, then I came to Numbers 3: 14-38. I had never seen this before. Take a minute and read this section HERE…I will wait.

No commentsTHE BIG BOX CHURCH – Part 1: Pros and Cons of using empty retail space
Originally posted at comperio C3
For the past few years we have seen lots of churches take advantage of the vacancy rates in many of the country’s lagging real estate markets. The exit of Circuit City, Linens ‘n Things and Block Buster, the relocation of Wal-Mart to make way for the SUPER STORE, the downsizing of many car dealerships and the closing of other large retails facilities has left the real estate landscape cluttered with an abundance of empty “big box” spaces.

For the better part of the past 2 decades (maybe longer), the term “VISION” has been a popular buzz word in business and our churches. It is not uncommon to pick up a book, blog, seminary outline, magazine and so on and see phrases
like:- - What is your vision?
- - Align your vision
- - Visionary Leader(ship)
- - Cast your vision
- - With out vision, people will perish
- -No vision, no leadership
I did a quick search on Amazon for “Books on Vision”…it reported almost 61,000…and I have read and learned a lot from many of these.

No commentsAnd Then Some – One of the best blogs ever
Originally posted on Sep 18, 2011 at comperio C3
On September 13, 2011, Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church posted one of the best blogs I have read in quite some time. As many of you know, the “Cool Family” attends Elevation Church and our company serves as the facility
consultant for them as well. As a side note…Elevation Church was just listed by Outreach Magazine as the 2nd fastest growing church in America. Very COOL (pun intended) to be a part of this movement of God personally and professionally. But I digress…

This past week, my friends at Church Executive ran an article (thanks Ron) that I wrote entitled “The real cost of ownership” (Hey mom…it is on page 26). This blog is based on that article and is a re-post from comperio C3

We are now more than 1/2 way through 2012…and these 10 Trends are even more relevant than at the beginning of the year:
